THE ART OF WELLBEING – 2020 MAD HATTERS FESTIVAL

Supporting the work of artists with a lived experience of mental health issues and raising community awareness and understanding of mental health

The Art of Wellbeing is community forum and conversation about how creativity and art can promote wellbeing, support recovery and generate closer social connections. This year the forum will include a focus on the impact of COVID- 19 – and how it has created new mental health challenges for all of us.

If you are interested in how art and creative activity can make a positive contribution to improved mental health – please come along and join the conversation.

Speakers – Ivan Frkovic – Mental Health Commissioner Queensland:  Troy Cowley – Artist: Margaret McAllister Adjunct Professor of Nursing with Central Queensland University and University Technology Sydney: Peter Breen – Founder Jugglers Art Space and the Stairwell Project: Justine Wake – Art Therapist and Counsellor: A/Professor Simon Denny – Mater Hospital: Daniel Anderton singer/songwriter and filmmaker.

Where, When and How? Saturday October 24 – 2pm to 4pm – Ron Hurley Theatre – BCC Hub – 28 Tallowwood Street Seven Hills Brisbane.
